There are so many good tutorials on this matter on the internet so I don't think that I'll be doing this myself. Maybe if I can come up with something bit more different just adding a window and some lights to the drive.

I think the Hard drive window is the dumbest thing i have ever seen. The platters in a hard drive are to fraglie. I would not use a windowed Hard Drive to store inportant files or the OS.

What you should do with a hdd is take an old junk one (of which I have several dozen) and mod it to have the heads move back and forth to music, with flashing lights switching between red and blue or something. Almost like a VU meter hdd.

HAHA thats actually not a bad idea.....it would have to be controled by serial or usb port or sumtin other than regular HD cable.

That is until the platters would break and fly apart or whatever it is they would do.

erm, it was a joke since the paint on the platters would end up being scratched by the read head, and it would probably reduce the magnetism a bit. BTW why would it need to be controlled via a different form? if powah is wat ur thinking, you could just attatch another cable off a molex connector into the uv light. thats if u can fit a ccfl in it...
