Hey everybody! I'm baaaaack! Anyway, I just had a kickass idea. You know how people have those laptop TFT's and PSOne LCDs and crap on the sides of their pc's? How about hooking them up right so they can be used to display just certain things while keeping your monitor at work? You know how people have their comps set up so that they can hook up two monitors and use them to display different things? You could do that with a small LCD that you mount to the front of your case where you can drag Winamp and stuff. That would be really cool. It would take work, time, and programming skills, but it would be cool.

well all you'd need to do is pinch an LCD screen from a laptop, do the neccessary solderations (to a VGA or DVI plug) then whack it into the back of your dualview vid card, plug in da powah, then activate it. Wouldn't that work?

Do you know the exact solderations to put a dvi plug on it????

No, I don't think that you can just wire up an LCD to a DVI or VGA connector. I think that you need a controller, but if you rip it out of an old laptop, shouldn't it have one? I'll check out ebay and stuff. However, any input on using it as a separate display for certain stuff would be cool. Maybe you could put a touchscreen for that stuff so you never need to move your mouse down there.

yea, thats wat i meant, u'd need dat controller. just note that if you'd use touchscreen for the LCD, then your mouse would be skipping to the other screen whenever someone touches it.

That would be fairly 1337, except you would need to bit of soldering both for power and vga/dvi.

I wasn't thinking about touchscreen, but that is a pretty coolass idea. I might try that. That is, when I get the money.

On the other hand, soldering is fine. I'm quite good at it actually. I build circuits in my spare time. Example: my Tesla coil. I have two. One is a solid state which is extremely complex. All kinds of electronic components. Transistors, resistors, bridge rectifiers, transformers, the whole nine yards. Fun stuff.

EDIT:
Does anyone know of any circuit that converts DVI to RCA video? I could probably figure it out with several hours of tinkering, but I'm lazy, so bring it on.

EDIT 2:
I think I can use my DVI-VGA adapter and work my way from there. Hear back in a few hours.
