okay, the other day I scored a dead samsung CD-ROM drive that is externally at least identical to my samsung DVDROM, and since this drive is gonna be on display, I intend to make it look a bit better. I have stripped the stickers off the steel case, and I have given it a couple of coats of a nice gloss white.

What I want some input on, do ppl think it should be left whit, maybe with some uv highlites, or should I paint it some wild UV reactive colour

imo, white is already a wild UV reactive colour, but i guess it is a little dull inder the UV CCFL. I'm painting my chassis UV Blue and my outside of my case a reflective black. Check out the neat tut i found :):):): http://www.pc-workshop.net/articles/pai ... 01-1.shtml

yeah An@rchy, as I type this the 4th coat of white epoxy enamal is drying on the covers....

Incedently this is the same paint, both type and colour, as what is on my car. I have a pretty good mirror finish on that, and I painted It my self :)

YOu should gut and put a router/switch inside I gutted mine but was to lazy to cut the hole in the front of the plastic
this would be pretty good for a front port easyness.
