Hey Japala,

I know there are guides out there for this already, but you seem to be able to put everything into words a lot better. How bout you write a guide to making those professional looking pcb's like u made in the HDD eyes mod? I've heard that www.expresspcb.com lets you download free PCB CAD software, and that it's a very good program to use.

Making the schematic, layout and routes with software is not the hardest part. Making them appear to a piece of pcb is a lot harder. I'm fortunate to have a router machine so I can make the prototypes easily. I've used chemicals to etch the boards too but that was back when I was still in school. Haven't tried it at home. Perhaps I should take a look at those online shops that manufacture PCBs from schematics that clients make. I would need few URLs first because I haven't tried them before. Any ideas?

I know expresspcb.com will make 3 copies of your board layout for $51 US. www.active123.com (a canadian company) has kits for under $100 CDN.

I've used the stuff from radio shack to make a PCB. It didnt work that well. At least not how I thought it would.
