Hello. I am attempting to rig up something that i dont' think has be done.. well at least not that i've seen ;) What i'm trying to do is adapt the instrument panel from my old 1990 Suzuki Swift and use it for some sort of interface for my computer. I have been tinkering but have virtually no clue what i'm doing ;) I had an idea that i wanted to somehow use the signal from the HDD led to make the spedometer raise.. the longer the light was on the higher the arm would go. and use the warning lamps etc as normal activity such as power, standby or somehow even get the fuel indicator running as a hdd level hehe (impossible probably). I was hoping also to maybe get the temp gauge to work as my case temp. i dunno.. tell me if i am crazy to attempt this or should i try just some of the mods on this site first. I'll enjoy any comments you or your users might have.

Thanks =)

see below my pics for the circuit diagram and explaination

That is really interesting. :) I actually looked behind my brother's Peugeot 305 dashboard and there too is similar kind of wirings so one could use car dashboard for this too. :)

http://www.xoxide.com/pctachometer.html thats kinda the idea... i'm not sure how to get a tachometer or speedometer to go up or so... the pictures aren't working for me.. but i'm guessing that higher voltage = rise in speed. so my guess is that you have to have some programing skill... so that when the hd usage comes on it will slowly increase voltage over like a 15 or so second lenght.. Good luck.. you'll also need to know how to solder well.. and such.. but i think most of it is possible with just time and some solder
