is it possible to somehow control the led inside the fan? (on/off) it will probably require undervolting the LED to 0V but im not sure how to do that, any help?

Yes, if you look carefully at the PCB band you will nottice a 2 small wires that connect to it. Desolder the red wire and solder a wire in place. The end of the wire attach it to a switch and then add a wire to the red wire wich you previosly desoldered and solder it to the switch.
Crappy English....

another thing tho. if u try to put 2 leds from one fan onto one switch(i did). dont connect one fan through the molex, and the other through the mobo connector. i did this, it ended up heating up my copper wire i used so much that it eventually broke. so yea, one switch per led fan. LMAO

btw, my fans were fine, and same with my mobo.
