Where can I get those three state switches or whatever they're called in the US (Southern California)? 8O

Sure there is. Usually there are only two legs on that switch. Used is many places. :)

what about a two mode switck with on and on so i can switch between two things, or do i need a three mode one for that?

On-on switch is just three legged switch and usually the center leg is "common" other two. On/off switch just doesn't have that third leg. Then there are these on-off-on switches. Again with three legs but the center position doesn't connect that center leg anywhere.

I have a switch that is an on-off. It has four legs...one + and - pole for both on and off

i want to have a phone going through my computer speakers and microphone, so in order to not fry the seakrs, i need to have a switch so i can switch between the two. which switch would be right?

I went to RadioShack and they dont carry 3-state switches, dunno why. So any other place carry them in the US??
