Can anyone on here tell me where on the net there is a place to Translate a URL or just text.

There are SO MANY things here that I WANT TO READ and want the knowledge contained within it, but even the Google babble fish will not translate.

Thanks,

Dan

So far I haven't seen any free translators can translate finnish. There's just so few of us and I assume the language being a hard to learn also makes it harder to make a translator for.

Just ask and we'll translate it for you. Maybe not word to word but so that you get the idea what the topic is about. :)

It's easy to make translator from finnish to english. It's almost impossible make translator which can do it from sentences. It's because our prepositions are in side the word unlike in english.

kissa = cat
kissassa = in cat
kissalla = on cat

lumi = snow
lumessa = in snow
lumella = on snow

And as you can see, all our words don't even convert in same way. Easyest way is you to learn finnish. :wink:

And here is one dialogue:
Kokoo kokoon koko kokko.
Koko kokkoko?
Koko kokko.

Gather up whole bonfire.
Whole bonfire?
Whole bonfire.

There's one translation page, what i use:
http://www.ilmainensanakirja.fi/

Page is finnish, but there's what need to know:

Syötä sana : Insert word
Valitse kielipari : Choose language (suomi - englanti)
Käännä! : Translate!

Thanks for all the info. And Mr Japla, as much as I would like to ask on certain posts and all, I HONESTLY would not want to become that much of a bother. There ar just SO MANY.

I will just stick to projects that I am working on (and will ONE DAY finish). (No pun intended)

Now as far as me learning Finnish, Grin... It reminds me of a joke that a friend told me. I am sure you all will get it.

What do you call a person who can speak 4 languages

quadralingual.

What do you call a person who can speak 3 languages

trilingual

What do you call a person who can speak 2 languages

bilingual

What do you call a person who can only speak 1 language

An American

Yes I know she was making fun of me and in general all Americans but it is the truth. We are jsut so damed set in our ways that we just do not understand that it is gonna be our downfall.

Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE to learn to speak MANY other languages and all, but as it is now it seems I barley have enough time to say I barley have enough time... Grin

Thank You all again for the comments, and I WILL ask if i see something that I really really like (and if I have the time)

Dan
