 Post subject: power from car?

will i be able to use this circuit in my car? or would that be too much current? i know i wont be able to get true 12v but i only need the 5v so that doesnt matter to me

a device will only pull as much current as it needs

i plan on putting a bunch of leds in my car and i thought that the 12v in the car varied too much to make the leds function properly(am i wrong in that assumption). so i figured that id use the 5v reg to power the led's

someone let me know if there is a better way of doin this

just use 12v ccfl's instead of leds. :D

i have the leds plus id rather use them cuz they are cheaper and last longer i would still like to know if i need to make part of the "modlab"to use these leds or if there is a better way
