Here is my latest project:

It is tame compared to my other work. I built the Decomatic to compete in a home theater PC design contest.

More of my work

Perhaps post it in http://www.allthemods.com/ too?

Good work! I thought it was a pre-made case, looks really professional!

Thanks! It has an aluminum chassis that is actually a stripped-down Silverstone LC02.

More pictures HERE but no descriptions yet. I'm working on it.

Intel PC Design Contest

This is a photo of how the case cracks apart:

That is beautiful, innovative, simple and warm looking. Just the way HTPC should be. I really like big button on front (power?), it's looking like a volume knob.

Front looks like something from the old car mask. And I don't mean it in the wrong way.

Thanks!

The knob is a Griffin Technology Powermate modified to plug directly into a motherboard USB header. I use it mainly as a volume control but it can be programmed to do most anything.

You see it taped up to help protect it in that last picture.

I'm sorry but that site looks very confusing and non-intuitive. If I sent someone there to see my work.....how?

Do you have to sign up just to see mods other than the random photos?

Again....I'm sorry.

You just give an url directly to the photo:
http://www.allthemods.com/userinfo.php?userid=1&id=445

or to album:
http://www.allthemods.com/userinfo.php?userid=1&album=5

or to the project:
http://www.allthemods.com/project.php?id=51

only thing that the user will miss when not registered/logged in is the possibility to comment.

Reason why not all the navigation options are visible/usable when not logged in is that I want to get more contributing visitors to the site. Nothing more. :) If this doesn't seem to work, I might change even that... we'll see.

I see. It is a photo hosting site. That's cool for people who don't have their own website.

You should look at OCAU's PCDB. I post some of my stuff there. I like its interface. It is for PCs only though. I see you do all sorts of mods...cars and stuff.

Inside metku we have http://metku.net/modgallery/ that started more or less PC mods in mind. Since then people have started modding other items too so I decided to make a dedicated site for modding in general. If you browse around the ATM, you'll notice that even while it has all these categories for different mods, 95% of the mods are still computer related. Perhaps I just wanted to make the site future-proof. :)

ATM is much more than just a picture hosting service. It features project section and user interaction is also a key feature. It is still a work-in-progress but quite usable the way it is at the moment. At least I believe so. :)

OK. Tell you what.....I'll start posting stuff at ATM if you pimp for my entry in the Intel PC Design Contest. It is suppose to be an "industry-only" computer design competiton but I sneaked in the backdoor.

It is a People's Choice Award so everyone can go there and vote for their favorite....wink,wink.

It is an easy choice because it is a case modder against the evil corporations. :)

VOTE HERE

I would be intersted in hearing your opinion about all the designs. Thanks!

We'll after seeing the other participants in the competition, there is no doubt on which the best one is...
Your's really blows the competition away...:) A clean design with something unique.
The only one that comes even close imo is the Bicom HMS7. There is really nothing new to the other designs that I haven't seen too many times already...:D

Yes. The HMS7 has some pretty cool buttons and lights but......this is suppose to be an HTPC case contest. I don't think anyone is going to put down their remote control, walk across the room and play with the buttons. I don't like distracting lights when watching movies that's why the Decomatic has NO lights at all.

Thanks for your comments!

The "Terminator Head" is worth some of the pain.

A glimpse of the Decomatic.

And Then There Were Two......

What do you think?
