has anybody considered putting this bubble effect inside their car? I was thinking just how cool it would be to have bubbles floating up thru the back window of my truck... I dunno, it might go against some laws. What do you guys think?

heh, that would be cool but can't be done at least here in Finland. There are some laws againt blocking your view but who says that you have to keep the system on when there is police car driving behind you. :)

If you have side mirrors on both sides, then you can even paint your rear window solid black, so I think that is legal in Finland. But if you put some lights to it, it's illegal.

I think that you can use green lights in it, but not blue or red, I don't really know...

Sorry, answer in Finnish...

Eli Vihreä väri on laiton.

Sounds nice, but when temperature drops below zero degrees it will freeze. This could be avoided by using alcohol or something else that has low freezing point or keeping your car always warm.

you can also try dissolving salt in the water to prevent freezing, but i dont know if that would damage the pump

Salt wouldn't damage the pump, the pump justs pumps air and wouldn't even be in the water. I think I would choose this idea over alcohol for the safety factor alone. Plus who knows what the cops could get you for if you had a window full of alcohol 8O

hehe, this is true, but some people get desperate and have consumed worse and I am sure you have seen what some people will do if you dare them and they are dumb enough  I think here in the states they might try and get you for something, but stuff like rubbing alcohol, like you said, is not illegal. My main concern with it is being a fire hazard. Say someone was smoking in your vehicle, of course the bubbler would be sealed, but stranger things have happened. Also, what if, in an accident, the bubbler breaks and know you have alcohol all over you and your interior. Any sparks and your toast. I would much rather have salt water or some other water creation on me, then the alcohol. I can just picture the cops smelling the alcohol in the vehicle and trying to pin a DWI on you or something. Don't get me wrong, I think it would work, but I think in a vehicle, it is too dangerous.
