im kind of a noob to electronics, well, the inside part anyway, well, i was wondering where i needed to hook up my LED too, i will post som pics, its just a crappy old GE optical mouse i got for like 5 dollars, heres the pics

PS2 wire would be the best place.

try using a multimeter to find the 5 volt lines.

i found out where it is, green is negative, and blue is positive...but the stupid led isnt long enough to reach, any quick fixes?

it is a tad ruough, but the reason for that is that i had to cut thruogh two different pieces of plastic, and the only plexi i had or could get in my small hick town was 1/8" thick, so i had to make it fit in the hole using the sanding bit, and it was a bitch to bend...but thanks for the comments, and i will after i find a good head...

u could use the thing from a cd case. the front plastic works great for smaller devices that just need tiny windows.

some epoxy would look pretty good in there...........put some tape(electrical or duck) on the outside of the mouse and cover the hole and then mix some epoxy and put it on the inside of the mouse cover where the tape is. Let it dry then it will look good.
