Some people have used CD case front windowses for this mod. It's transparent and there are usually plenty of these cases floating around.

thinking of using the plastic from disposable cups. Those clear ones, which can be cut with a scissors and is easy to shape.

the cups would not work very good because the plastic would try to return to the original form unless you use a heat gun

You can get the acrylic at any large hardware store like Home Depot or Lowe's in the US and they should have it at most glass/window places too.

I am going to attempt this mod, hopefully tomorrow. I finally hvae all the pieces, but just as a note I found the plexiglass in an art store by me. It's bendable easy to work with and was pretty cheap.

Home Depot (at least in my area) has a much better selection of plexiglass than Lowe's. Lowe's here carries only .25" Lucite (pricey!) that is very expensive. Home Depot carries several types, including .125" Crystallite (and the polycarbonate version) and .125" Lexan (also pricey, but the strongest of the bunch).

Acrylic plastics are already available online. There is a company that offers this kind of supply for industrial and business needs. Acrylic plastics are many uses. It is use in making of windshields, shower doors, skylights, windows, automobile taillights, aquariums, outdoor signs and a lot more. It is lighter than glass, yet it is far stronger and impact resistant. It is very flexible and can be molded into multitude shapes. Good to know that it is now easier to make an order online.
