Ok. heres another question. My friend told me thta if i connect my 2 LEDs to the wires going to the computer, they take power away and the mouse wont work right. Is it true or does they(mouse and 2 leds) both get 5V?

they both get 5v because you are creating a parallel circuit. in a parallel circuit everything gets the same voltage. the only thing that would decrease is the current, but leds use so little power it shouldnt affect the mouse at all.

Thanks.
But is it really bad if i connect 2 3V leds to the mouse. Are they going to lit at all?

No, if you remember to connect them in parallel, and solder appropriate resistor with them.

Well..its me again.

Quote:
Supply voltage 5 V [3-24 V]
Diode forward voltage 3 V [2-4 V, or more for series combinations]
Diode rated current ?? mA [10-50 mA, or more for parallel combinations]

Calculated resistance value ** Ohms
Next standard 5% resistor ** Ohms
Resistor color markings **-**-**
Power dissipated in LED ** mW
Power dissipated in resistor ** mW

*

Can't figure it out, whta to put instead of ??. Don't know because i'll get my leds from my friend and he hasn't kept the paccage.

a wild guess would be 20 mA. just a guess, but that is the most common.

yeah 20 mA

but using two 3v leds on a 5 v power supply wont work

2x3=6, if they light it will be very dim

thats only if u connect them in serial. connecting them in parallel, they will each get 5v. with the proper resistor(100ohm is average) they will get enough to light with their full power.
