 Post subject: waterproof or not?

I was wondering if cathodes where waterproof? If not can you make them waterproof? if so where can i buy some? i have an idea for a mod but it will need to be water proof...thanks

Don't think that they are waterproof. There are wires going inside the tube on both ends so water could make contact with them. There are some new type of cathodes coming where there is only one wire going to the cathode. Easier to dip the other end to the water.

why not put it in a tube and then use glue or silicone to make it waterproof :idea:

hmm...my cathode has 2 wires goin in one end..so it would be easy for ne to make one end waterproof with a little model glue

i have this clear acrylic spraypaint that says itll waterproof electronic components. you can just spray the whole tube with it, but im not sure what it would do to thelight. it bight blur it or make it dimmer or something like that.
