8KNXP motherboard wit DPS :D

I was thinkin bout putting some sort of larger heat sink on the Dual Power System thing so I dont have the noise from the fan, but I aint sure wot to use or whether its goin to cool it down enough. One idea was to use a heat sink from a broke PSU but i dunno if it will hava a big enough cooling area.

Anyone got any ideas :?:

perhaps fit a larger heatsink (dont forget to consider its weight and support for) and maybe duct air over it from one of those rear fans

One last thing Gigabyte boards are damn fine huh. I have an athalon system sitting on a GA board

that fan is too small to be making audiable noise over ur 2 exaust fans right next to it.

Crash makes a good point...a very good point indeed. compared to all the other fans howling away in ya case, that llittle one aint gonna make much noise

you'd look at probably replacing the small one wit a more silent small one, as any terribly loud noise would be either by poor manufacturing, or wear and tear.

Admittedly it can't be heard over the 2 exaust fans, but they can be switched of. The little fan cant + i dont think it should be

perhaps, since it kinda looks like a north bridge cooler, you should get one of those fanless Zalman north bridge coolers. The only consideration is as I said before, its weight, and also the clearence between that board and the CPU cooler

if u turn it off it may overheat

maybe u can power it at 7v or something if its too loud. does the DPS get really hot anyway?

I dunno how hot it gets theres no way of checkin properly, but the heatsink usually feels cool to the touch. Also it aint that loud im just tryin 2 cut down on all the fans in my system - i think 9 fans is a bit excessive :!:
