I got this broken oscilloscope from school for free.
CRT was broken so I had to invent something to get it working again.

Image
So here is one of my firsts plans.
(poweri = PSU)

Image
Some planning about future knobs.
I will put HD15 connector (VGA) below that DIN12 connector.
I think you guess that I will print new label sticker to front panel :)
I also need 4...5" lcd or tft display. Please sell your useless display to me :)

Hinta toki on vähän subjektiivinen asia. :)

Time/div rotary switch.

Tomorrow I will buy new 2.5" hdd for this case because laptop hdd's can take much more hits and shakes than 3.5" models.
That HDD will be Western Digital SCORPIO 40GB 2.5" ATA 5400RPM 8MB WD400VE . It costs 76€

http://www.westerndigital.com/en/produc ... riveID=104
Quote:
Reliable - WD's ShockGuard™ technology protects the drive mechanics and platter surfaces from shocks. Meets the highest shock tolerance specifications: 250 Gs while in operation, 900 Gs when it's idle. WD's DuraStep Ramp™ locks the heads in a secure position away from the disk to provide another layer of protection when the drive is not in use. Utilizing the most technologically advanced material available, the drive can perform a minimum of 600,000 load/unload cycles without contamination - up to twice the performance of its competitors.

Rugged - WD Scorpio's rigid stainless steel top cover withstands more than 5 pounds of pressure - nearly 1.5 times the industry average - without pinching vital internal components.

It is very expensive if you compare it with any regular hdd but I think it will pay itself back.
