Instead of having LED light glow from under the plexiglass you could drill holes further into it and have a ring of lights around the edge or you could create LED pictures.

hey dude I am sitting next to you in the library but that would just waist led power and led', just sribe the letters or pictures into the plexiglass and it will glow

He has a point. If the plexi is thick enough it is better to drill further into the material (being very careful not to crack it while drilling) because the light really does spread wider than if you just glue it onto the side. But these are matters of opinion.

I used about 1/4 in thick acrylic and i drilled 2 leeds for leds (haha fuanny right) about an inch in and the 3rd and midle leed is about 2 1/2 inches in. It looks really good that way I feel, you dont see the back of the pad anyways so it desnt need to glow much.
