60 mcd sounds a bit weak...You should buy a LED with at least 2000 mcd

White Diffused?
Water Clear?

You should be able to get a couple 5mm that are about 3.7v and 20mA, and have about 2600mcd. Keep looking, I'm sure you will find something.

With that mcd rating one isn't enough. You would need at least two but I would recommend four...

that wouuld e nice...if you put two of each color on each side then youd have a nice separated glow with a purple mix in the middle...ir one of each on each side so you would get the same purple glow all over

White LEDs are extremely bright... the ones I bought say they are only 3.6v and 20mA with 1100mcd, but they are brighter than my 3.7v 20mA 2600mcd blue ones!

I'm thinking about making a glowpad out of em... so that they will go with my case. I am currently working on a blue/white LED baybus type controller, and it would go perfectly with that. I'll post some pictures when I'm done

stocker, in this case for a glowpad you want to brightest you can get. Go for the 1800mcd or higher if you can find them.

I paid $6 for one of my blue leds a year ago and it was 4700mcd. Different countries and stores with different prices. Really hard to say anything how much something will cost locally where you live.

Did some checking for ya stocker and this place shows that it ships international. http://www.theledlight.com/catalog.html Their prices are pretty competetive. They are currently moving to a new location and can't ship until the 26th of this month, but are running a 5% discount special because of this until Christmas. They also carry the Luxeon Star series of LED's which claim to be the brightest on Earth at 80.000 mcd minimum. Here is info on international shipping from them http://www.theledlight.com/order2.html . I don't know what they charge, so you would have to email and see if it is worth it or not. Hope this helps
