Good job, I am especially interested in the way the cap is used. I sure wouldn't have thought to use the base connection for it, but you can't argue with results, very creatively designed.

Hi Linear, long time no see :)

Placement of the cap was a result of a good guess. I thought that there has to me some voltage there because the way of the output part of the optocoupler works. Tried the cap to store the energy and I was quite surprised that it worked. Before that I was prepairing to use transistor after the optocoupler that I could control with the cap but this cap+opto made everything a lot simplier. The way I like it. :)

Hey Japala, heh its been a while since I posted here.

But I just attempted your idea with the cap and slow fading. But it doesn't work for me at all. I'm using a 4N32 opto with your layout. I added the cap to pin 6 and even tired flipping the polarity. It's grounded too, im sure its wired correctly.

But it doesnt do anything, no even turn the leds on for a second. Do you think the 4N32 doesnt have that feature, or is it just something stupid? I used both 22 and 33 mf caps.
