zouwi: en varmaan jaksa jatkaa.. ehkä joskus. ehkä ei. ja virtalähteet taisin jo heittää roskiin.. :/
XnoX: I havent seen even one powersupply, which didn´t have its sinks shielded, and I have opened several brands and models. In many cases they are actually grounded on the casing. Nevertheless, I metered them before doing anything.
The Typhoons heatpipes were easy to bend and they didn't lose their ability to transfer heat after remodeling, I tested them with hot water after bending them into new shapes. (dipped the other end to water, and the end I was holdig became hot after a half second

. I didn't break any of the the typhoons heatsinks, so I can't say what was inside them, but I did break a heatpipe from Thermalright HR-05. It did not have a wick, but the pipes inner surface was porous for the capillary effect. I bet this is cheaper to manufacture than a separate wick, so I believe the Typhoon was similar.
And about the HR-05, it broke because it was chromed. I tired to bend it after removing some of the fins, but it didn't bend, it just snapped in two.
So I believe any heatpipecooler wich pipes are chromed, or coated some other way, are not suitable for salvaging heatpipes
