Why not make it USB?

Can it function like the G15 keyboard and grab stats? If i need to write all the code for it myself how hard is it?

If you can find USB -> SPI adapter between the screen and the computer, you should be able to make it work with USB. This should also make the screen a lot faster. Parallel port offered a "software only" solution so it was a lot simplier to make but naturally it has some drawbacks.

My whole goal is to have it hook up through USB and than have it display stats from programs and games. Im not very experianced in modding, i do soldering, and im not a great programmer and know little. Is this a feasible project for me or should i quit before i spend my money?

You need a fair amount of programming to get that USB -> SPI link to work. I would not recommend this project to anyone that have only coded "hello world" type of programs. Electrically it should be easy but the software side can become difficult quite fast. Sorry. :(

Think you would ever consider coding something like that? I want to put this into a keyboard, making a custom LCD keyboard sounds like a good project, i found a similar project with instructions but the screen was hundreds of dollars.
