Looking at your articles, I see something I like but not exactly what I want. I wish to have lights that light up in sequence (ie. chasing lights) following the HDD activity. I would also like to retain the HDD light activity. Is it possible to split the HDD output (from the motherboard) into several different signals so it can trigger let's say... cathodes, LEDs, fangrills with LEDs etc... possible? I don;t know much about electronics so please forgive me... :?

Yes, it is possible. Just split the wire and connect more optocouplers to them and control what ever circuitry you like. ... better way might be to connect only one optocoupler to that hdd led header and then connect the circuits in parallel to that one optocoupler. This way you don't stress the motherboard with additional couplers. :)
