I dont know about this..but i can only find a 12V fan...but i found something on the back of mouse that says :
Mouse for IBM compatible
Rating 5V 12V --- 10Ma

I dont quite understand this......so can the 12V fan work?

And one more thing...the mouse is a Scroll Mouse...with no brand...made in china.

perhaps that means that the mouse is made to handle either 12V or 5V..to bad yuo only get 5V out of the current plugs

Is it a serial mouse? Regular serial port operates with 12 volts and ps2 with 5 volts. By using this 5 and 12 markings the manufacturer could tell you that this mouse can be used with regular 9-pin serial port and ps2 with a converter plug.

If it fits, it will work. Great motto for many things. ;)

Sure you can. With ps2/usb mice the colors/wires usually are thin black wire for ground and red for +5 volts.

VC should be postive side and VS negative (ground). Try to use multimeter to confirm this if you have one.

Don't think that there is much to do for this, at least I can't think of anything.
