Alright. I understand voltage, current, drop, and the amount of volts that LEDs require. I also now understand how resistors work and the apropriate amount of resistance needed so as to not blow out an LED with too much power. R=U/I. Anyway, the one thing i dont quite get is how to hook up the LED with the resistor to the logic chip. What should i use? a wire on either side on the correct leg of the chip (so to get +5 volts) connect it to the resistor and then to the led? What is the correct way to properly hook this up? Thanks!! :?

wow you're calling specifically on me. I feel important

there is no "right" way to wire up the circuit, the resistor can go on either side of the led(s) but not in between them. i think the best way to to it would be to solder the resistor(s) to the positive lead, then the led(s) in series after that and attach the led to the negative point on the logic chip.

trial and error, you'll figure it out, 5v isnt enough to kill you so do a test before you solder them on there just to make sure everything works
