Router bit
I just love this carving/routing bit. It should be included with most of the rotary toolkits like from Dremel and Ferm. Best bit to cut away plastic with good control.
Shaping the head
From inside the head I removed the hinge mechanism and the stick that were used to push out the PEZ candy when the head was tilted. Because the head will be glued to the PEZ body, these parts have no funtion and they will be also blocked from the wiew.
The Stand
As there is no point on leaving the bare printed circuit board of the memory stick to be visible, the dispenser body was cutted in half and the top half was used to cover to PCB. The bottom half works as a stand. Two brass spacers were used to give more weight to the stand so it slides off when user picks up the FlashPEZ head.
Assembled
Memory stick was first hot glued and then attached more firmly inside the dispenser with epoxy. Now we have everything ready to start using this newly modded FlashPEZ. It is easy to slide the top half to the stand as the white loader mechanism, or what's left of it, guides the parts together.
Test fit
As the top half of the dispenser body works as a cover for the PCB, the whole unit looks more professional. Not that my mods need any extra help in that department in the first place, right?! ;)
