I added black-painted L-profiles to cover the ugly corners.

Project: HybRed

It annoys me to think that the case actually looks better from behind.

Final specifications:

  • Amd Athlon 64 3500+ s939
  • Asus A8N-VM CSM
  • XFX Geforce 6800GT
  • 1024 MB DDR400
  • Seagate barracuda 320 GB SATA
  • Fortron 400 W
  • Hyundai L70S+ 17"
Ok it isnĀ“t the hot Core Duo system with SLI 7900GT but still enough to play modern games.

The cooling solution is actually copied from the Aluminum Spire mod. The only differences are that the power supply is now external and the fans in the computer are now temperature controlled.

Idle temps:
    CPU: 48°C
    GPU: 59°C
Load temps (Gaming):
    CPU: 55-60°C
    GPU: 70-75°C

The power supplys fan stays at its lowest rpm at all times, even under heavy load.

Leaving out the components and the display, I estimate the total cost for this project to be around 100-150 euros.
