Hacking the handset

I wanted the handset to be more functional and keep it so it can be still used to make phone calls or to listen some music. I didn't want to use the iPhone's top mounted audio port for this so I went for the Bluetooth option.
This little Bluetooth hands-free unit was purchased to be used to link the handset's original speaker and the microphone to the iPhone. When installed, one can use this to answer phone calls, adjust the volume and change music tracks on the phone.

Compared to what space inside the handset I had when building the Mobira Dataman, this handset
poses no problem. Or this was the thought when I first opened it up...
