Performance
- Motherboard: MSI 790FX-GD70 (bios 1.8)
- Processor: Being tested
- CPU Cooler: Thermaltake Jing
- Memory: Corsair TW3X4G1600C9DHXNV
- Graphics: HIS HD5870 iCooler V Turbo
- Power supply: SilverStone DA-700
For performance testing we used the same test bed as before, with the exception that this time the graphic card was updated from HD4870 to the HIS HD5870 we reviewed a while back.
3DMark Vantage (Perf)

The performance testing was started by running the 3Dmark Vantage Performance-preset. Here the extra cores of the 6-core family pay off with the quad core CPUs leaving behind by a margin of almost 4000 points in the CPU-score. Not surprisingly the 965 and 970 score very close to each other.
3DMark05

The old 3Dmark doesn't benefit from the extra cores and so it's the highest clock speed quad core that takes the lead here. Just like in the Vantage, the difference between the lone Athlon and the Phenoms is very clear.
X3:Terran Conflict

The X3:Terran Conflict game test shows results very similar with the 3Dmark05. It's again the clocked 970 BE that scores the best FPS, with the overclocked 6-cores following close behind. Overclocking the 1075T gives a very nice boost of 13,6 FPS by average. The other improvements aren't quite as massive, but it's easy to see how CPU overclocking can improve the gaming performance.
