Wprime 32M is a heavily multi-threaded benchmark so the quad core Athlon tops the scale here, scoring close to the current flagship CPU 965 BE. In these multi-threaded benchmarks one can really see how quad-cores come handy in demanding use. The Phenom 965BE has a clear price premium over the Athlons, but based on this particular test the Athlon II X4 635 is a solid choice for budget-minded system builder.
Cinebench R10
Cinebench R10 rendering test was ran with both the single core and xCPU-preset, which makes use of all the cores. Again this really goes to show how important it is to know how many threads your most demanding programs will be using. The differences are very similar to those in Wprime.
POV-Ray
POV-Ray only makes use of two cores, so here it's a game of having two cores at the highest clock speed possible. And here more of the same, see how the 555 BE didn't do so well in heavily multi-threaded Cinebench and Wprime, but here it comes second only to the 965BE.
Super Pi
And lastly some number crunching with Super Pi. The preset used this time was 2M to make the differences a bit larger than with the usual 1M test. It's all about single core clock speed here, and so the overclocked Athlon 255 faired very well while the two Phenoms took the top spots.
