Out of the box and the case indeed closely follows the style common to all Sonata-series cases. The front panel is anodized black aluminum and all the rest is piano black steel. The finish looks extremely classy, but of course also shows very mercilessly any finger prints and dust.

Looking at the front panel there are the two 5,25" drive bays, power- and reset switches, audio jacks for headphones and microphone and finally two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0-ports. The front panel is hinged for easy access to the dual 120 mm fan mounts and their dust filters. The upper fan mount is held in place with a single thumb screw and allows easy access to the drive bays (more of which later).

Looking at the back it's the old school layout with the power supply on top, but this time around the PSU can be mounted either way, as there's a dedicated air intake on the roof. Under the PSU-mount there's the single soft-mounted 120 mm True Quiet fan and its two-speed fan controller, the usual ATX I/O area and seven PCI-slots with some ventilation holes on the side. One thing to notice here is that while the left side panel is held in place with spring-loaded thumb screws, the right one is held in place with normal screws. This is an odd detail, as surely two thumb screws wouldn't blow the budget?

On the roof there's nothing else to see, but the air intake for the fan. The mesh is very fine, but there's no dedicated dust filter, so the power supply will suck in dust. That said, you can always mount the PSU the other way around, but that way it will be sucking in hot air from the CPU-area.

On the bottom we can see the four soft silicon feet that isolate any case vibrations from the desk underneath and also how the bottom of the front bezel is ventilated.
