In use

In use the banshees are very comfortable. They sure aren't the lightest headphones
out there, but the design is so good they feel comfortable even when you wear them for
longer periods of time. The sound quality is great. The Banshees are clearly aimed at
gamers, but they also sound good enough for music. Really the only problem I have with
the sounds is that there's simply too much bass. This can be helped to some extent by
using the EQ on the driver, but really it's a shame the extra bass ruins the overall
impression of the sound quality.
The P531's feel very different after the Banshees. Due to all the surround sound
drivers the headphones are heavy, and overall the design just doesn't feel as
comfortable as the Banshees. Atleast for someone like me who wears eye glasses the P531
start to feel uncomfortable in long use. In use the sound quality isn't as good as the
Banshees, either. It's still good enough for most and in gaming it didn't bother me that
much, but when listening to music the overall tone is just too muddym. For the price you
just can't expect hifi-quality, but even considering the cost, the P531's are still
somewhat underwhelming.

What's the verdict, then? It is a bit unfair to compare these headsets with each
other, as one is stereo, one is surround and the price difference is pretty significant
with the Razers costing almost twice the money. However, in my opinion both the comfort
and use as well as the sound quality make the price easily worthwhile. The P531's, for
the money in particular, aren't exactly bad, and there are some nice features such as
the volume controls for each individual channel on the controller, but after any period
of time they just got very uncomfortable. The Razers, on the other hand, remained
comfortable after even hours of use and the sound quality didn't give any reason to
switch back to using speakers, either.
