Noise

Here are the fan speeds of the stock fans during the temperature tests. Despite there being a difference of only 300 RPM, the Zalman sounds awful, but the CoolIt isn't nearly as bad. The Corsair fan runs at lowest speed and also has the nicest pitch to its sound. Right after booting the system up there was some noise from the ECO A.L.C. pump, but after that any noise by the pump was covered by the fan.
Conclusion
After all the testing the CoolIt ECO A.L.C. proved to be pretty much just like all other similar coolers. With its stock fan the performance was just on par with the Corsair, but it also was a bit noisier. With the reference fan it lost to the Corsair by three degrees, which may not seem much, but is a difference when considering the coolers cost just about the same. The ECO A.L.C. does have a much slower profile than the competition, so it may be easier to fit to some cases, but overall it just can't beat the Corsair Hydro H50. |
