Force GT

The 2,5" drive follows the same format as just about every SSD on the market, an aluminum housing with a model sticker on top. This time, however, Corsair has painted the drive striking red, which makes it stand from the black crowd.

While the top is painted red, the bottom is brushed black. There are two warranty void-seals to keep users from opening the drive, but these didn't stop us from taking a look inside.
Inside

The Force GT, just like so many other performance SSDs, uses the Sandforce controller, and being a brand new model, it uses the latest firmware of the said controller. The memory chips here are synchronous IMFT chips manufacturer by Micron at 25 nm process. The most improtant thing here is "synchronous", because that's one of the things that makes the GT different from other Force models. Asynchronous memory chips are cheaper and on paper offer almost similar performance, but in real life use the synchronous will be a faster and most essentially will keep its performance even when the drive is full.
