Fans

While the radiator and the pump fan controller support four fans, the cooler only comes with two. The fans are made by Corsair and have a very high maximum speed of 2500 RPM. With the controller at its low-setting the maximum speed of these 4,2 W beasts goes down to 1300 RPM, which still sounds like a lot to any quiet computing enthusiasts.
Installation

The installation of the Hydro H100 on Intel platforms is made extremely simple, as the block comes with the Intel-mounting hardware attached and the installation only includes nine components. Anyway the installation would be even easier if the universal rear support plate had some notches or marks to show the correct place for the screws for each socket, as now it takes a bit of tweaking to get the locations right.
The installation begins with by placing the support behind the motherboard and screwing four standoffs to it.

The standoffs have threads on both ends, so when they are in place, the pump/block unit is dropped in place and mounted using four thumb-nuts. There are no spring load mechanisms here, but the screw thread is just long enough to make the installation solid without putting too much stress on the motherboard.
