Satellites

The satellite speakers are a bit larger than on the SP2200 set, but the most important difference is that the SP2500 satellites have separate woofers and tweeters. This ofcourse effects a million things, but the main difference is that the woofers are no longer responsible of the whole band from the subwoofer crossover to 20 000 Hz, so it can be dedicated to playing back the mid range sounds.

On the backside of the satellite speakers there's a four pin connector for the cables. The connector choice makes sense as the speakers are bi-amplified. This means that there's a separate amplifier for both the woofer and tweeter, which in its turn means that it's possible to have separate DSP-settings for both drivers.

There isn't a huge difference in the size between the satellite speakers of the SP2200 and SP2500 sets, but from the weight it's easy to tell the SP2500 satellites are a serious bit of kit compared to the SP2200's speakers.
