To put the sound quality into test I used the SP2500's as my everyday speakers for a
couple of weeks. This period covered everything from intense FPS-gaming to watching
movies and ofcourse lots and lots of music listening. In short the SP2500 is the first
computer speaker set that I never felt lacking in sound quality. No matter what the use,
I just never felt like switching back to my other speakers.
Compared to the SP2200 the SP2500 has none of the drawbacks, the sound is clean and
crisp throughout the range without any muddiness in the sound and most importantly the
subwoofer is a real subwoofer, with the crossover frequency varying between 100 and 140
Hz. Granted, it's still a bit high for a sub-crossover, but you really need to
concentrate to notice the switch. The subwoofer itself is also loud and goes down to
pretty much the promised 35 Hz without problems.

In short the SP2500 is the best set of computer speakers I've seen and heard.
Physically the set is in a whole another league when compared to the SP2200 and other
smaller sets. The satellite speakers seem and feel very high quality and sturdy and the
subwoofer is huge. As a nice touch there's also a separate remote controller.
For connectivity there are three analog stereo inputs. Now this is really the only
big con that I can think of - why is there no digital input? In the Reviewer's Guide
Corsair claims that the target user for the SP2500 will already have a high quality
sound card and will want to use the settings and gaming effects. On the other hand I
don't think a simple stereo DAC would be a costly addition to an already pretty
expensive speaker set.
The sound quality of the set should be enough for everyone, and while the SP2500 is
meant for near field listening, it can also output enough sound to fill a larger room.
If you're looking for a stereo setup for your computer, the set should definitely be on
the top of your list.
