The controller of the headset has volume adjusting buttons and a mute button for microphone. The controller's surface is finished with soft-touch rubber, which feels comfortable.
Unfortunately the controller can't be attached to your shirt, so it just hangs on the cable. The cable between the ear cup and the controller is about 50 cm long, so usually the controller can rest on the table, though it feels annoying when the controller drops from the table.
Compared
Vengeance 1500 is relatively big unit. It is about the same size than AKG K 701.
Software
The sofware needs to be downloaded from Corsair's website, because there is no driver CD in the bundle. The software is pretty simple, and there are no useless features attached to it.
From Main section user can change headphones volume and microphones sensitiveness. Equalizer has six ready profiles, but one can of course customize the equalizer to fit his preferences.
Bypass-mode is simply stereo mode without any processings.
In Dolby Headphone mode headphones are processed to work as 5.1-channel surround sound, which is supposed to sound like that the sound is coming from speakers, not headphones. This reduces so called ear fatigue (the feeling that the sound is inside your head).
The last option is 7.1 Virtual Speaker Shifter, which uses the on-board USB sound processor to make virtual 7.1 surround sound. User can also shift the "speaker positions".
The functionality of the software has no faults and it is easy and clear to use.
