Power Consumption & Temperature

Less surprisingly the card uses barely any power and all, and in fact it was hard enough to see the difference between the stock and clocked card. As always these are the measured wattages of the whole test bench, and include the losses in power supply, the power consumption of the clocked E8600 and so on. The verdict here is that the card uses very little power and runs surprisingly cool, seeing how tiny the cooler is.

Conclusion
What is there really left to say? It's a basic card for people who don't need top performance. It's a small card well suited for stuff like media- and work PCs with very little need for 3d performance. That being said, it does run games like Call of Duty 4 at 1280x1024 resolutions with no problems. The only real problem I can see here is the cooler that simply should NOT require two card slots. Also seeing the very low wattage of the chip, a passive cooler would be nice. |
