Bundle in detail

GMC AVC-S7

The bundle contains the usual items; the manual, a driver CD, a tiny bag of screws and a power cord. Besides these, there's also an extension cable for the 4-pin power, a beeper and a remote controller that caused pretty heavy déjà vu on me by being identical with the one we saw on the AVC-K1 review.

As mentioned, the remote controller is identical to that we saw in the AVC-K1 review earlier. However I noticed while comparing the remotes that the one that came earlier seems a bit defective as it doesn't take commands as well as the new one. Especially the mouse feels much more pleasant to use with the new remote. The remote still has too many similar buttons for it to be easy to use in dark room. The most common features are fairly easy to get used to, but there are still way too many similar shaped and sized buttons to learn.

Cooling

The cooler that comes with the case shares quite a bit with the design of Zalman CNPS-7000. The design is exactly the same, but the dimensions and little details differe, so it isn't just re-branded Zalman. The cooler is made by pccooler ( http://pccooler.cn/ ) and despite my limited skills on Chinese, I found following specs for this;

Weight 550 g
Bearing Type Hydraumatic
Rated Voltage 12V
Rated Current 0.20 Amp (MAX)
Air Flow 38 CFM
Noise 25 db±10%
Speed 2,800 RPM±10%

For such a small cooler it weight quite a bit, and the manufacturer states it's enough for even Core 2 Quad Extreme processors. I'm slightly sceptical about that, but it worked fine with the AMD Athlon 64 3500+ installed on our HTPC-test setup.

The mounting supports both AM2 and Socket 775, but originally the mounting bracket was set to wrong holes on the arms and while trying to fix that, the bracket snapped. So if you ever get one of these on your hands, make sure the bracket is set correctly, and if not, be careful while fixing it.
