HD6970 IceQ Turbo

First glance at the card itself and that HAS to be one of the craziest coolers we've ever seen. At the same time it looks like the earliest IceQ-coolers, but is also absolutely massive. The HD 6970 and HD 6950 share the same reference board and are exactly as long, but the IceQ cooler actually adds two centimeters to the length of the card, taking it from 265 to 285 mm. The looks of the card are probably going to split opinions, but I actually like the blue and opaque plastic-approach and it definitely goes well with the IceQ-name.

From the flipside we can see that the cooler also adds 25 mm to the width of the card with its four heatpipes and fan shroud. We haven't had a reference HD 6950 or HD 6970 card around so unfortunately no side-by-side comparison shots are available, but the design is very close to the reference one, except for the missing second BIOS-chip and switch for choosing between the two chips.
Connectors

Looking at the connections, it's the usual set of a DVI-D, DVI-I, HDMI 1.4a and two Display Port Mini 1.2's. Unlike with the Sapphire HD 6950 Flex, you'll need to have at least one Display Port-screen to connect three screens simultaneously. With an external splitter or suitable screens it's actually possible to run six screens with a single HD 6970, but without such tricks it's the same three as with lower end cards.
