Temperatures

PC-7HX cooled the rig very well. Especially the CPU's load temperature was extraordinary low, though the ambient temperature is a couple of degrees lower than usually. Once again, if you feel that the cooling performance isn't good enough, you can always add a couple of extra fans to maximize the cooling performance.
Noise

The case is not especially silent by default. Thin aluminum and open front panel can't prevent the noise from escaping the case. On the other hand, you can lower the fans' speed without overheating your system.
Anti-vibration system seems to be working flawlessly, as I could barely hear the hard disk.

Conclusion
Lian Li PC-7HX turned out to be very well funcioning case with a lot of great details, like power supply's rubber strips, simple HDD mounting and 5.25" bays tool-less mechanism. The case also feels very high quality, mainly because it is made of brushed aluminum. The negative things in this chassis are relatively minor things, but in my opinion the biggest fault is the convex roof, which I don't expect to see when I get a Lian Li's case. Of course the fault may be only in the review sample, and overall it's not that big of a deal, as most people wouldn't probably even notice it. The price of PC-7HX is somewhere around 100 euros, which makes the chassis very tempting choice. |
