Closer look continued

This is how the Squeezebox looks while listening to a radio station. This photo was taken with the default blueish skin. You'll note that other photos are taken with black and white skin which I found most pleasing. Skins are nice as you might be able to match the colours with your other devices. If you don't touch the screen for a while it'll show the date, time and any set alarms which is nice.
After first alarm test I realized active speakers or amplifier need to be left on. No alarm sound otherwise. This is a bit annoying since the Squeezebox has a small speaker on the bottom where it play clicks while you touch the screen. I think that speaker should have been used for the alarms. I don't want to keep amplifier running all night.

Remote controller works great. Screen of the Squeezebox show in large font what you are adjusting with the remote. It's readable from 3 meters away. Biggest problem of the Squeezebox Touch becomes obvious if you need to use the remote controller in the first place. It's mean to be touched so any normal remote feels clumsy. I think you should place the display unit where you sit in your home theater etc. and run a long signal cable to the amplifier so you won't need the remote. I placed my unit next to my bed which is other great placement. Nice to listen to music first in the morning and last in the evening without a need to have your computer running.
