Accessories

Microsoft bundled an accessory box with the SideWinder. Inside we can find set of weights and two sets of replaceable glide feet. I feel that the inclusion of these feet was a great decision as people prefer different gliding profiles on a gaming mouse and also the additional sets can be used when first set is worn out.
Weight usage

The compartment meant to hold the weights is located on the side of the mouse. Cradle is released with the button at the bottom of the mouse. Too bad that the mechanism isn't spring loaded, making it hard to use. One is needed to tilt the mouse at the same time as the button is pressed for the cradle to slide out.
There are three slots that can be filled with weights. This gives a limited possibility to tweak the weight distribution inside the mouse. Weights themselves are held in place with small plastic claws. They do a good job on keeping the weights steady during a fire fight.
Cable Anchor

Box itself can be used as cable anchor. Idea is good as the box itself is weighted. Too bad that there is not enough resistance inside the box to hold the cord that well. Better option is to place the box over the cable to keep it from slipping and sliding around the table top.
Quality issue

I hope that this cable twist is present only in our review sample. All the wires inside the cable are currently operational but in the long run this may result to some connection problems.
