When it comes to software, Microsoft has the advantage of having theirs integrate perfectly into the existing keyboard settings of the Windows. The Intellipoint driver simply adds another tab to the settings menu, from which you find all the necessary key remap- and macro functions. For each special key you can assign a macro, choose a command (such as the media features), start a program or disable the key from use.
From the top menu one can choose what profile to remap. There are the three Banks, accessible via the physical profile-button on the keyboard, but you can also assign automated profile switches when a program is started. So for each game/program you get three sets of six macro keys on the left.
The macro editor is the usual ordeal where you record the wanted macro and just save it. The delays can be adjusted and keys held pressed while others are being added. Overall the software is very easy to use and Microsoft scores well on this area.
