Size

For most the 2.5" drive size is nothing new but I wanted to include a shot for those who haven't seen these drives in real life. Patriot Warp 2.5-inch SSD has the same physical dimensions as a regular 2.5-inch hard drive that you can find inside most of the current laptops. 1.8-inch is getting more popular but the 2.5 is the norm at the moment.
3.5-inch drive at the top seems massive compared to these two. It also weighs a lot more. Bigger size also means bigger risk for vibration damage as the arms inside the drive will have more inertia than the arms in 2.5-inch hard drive. SSD drives do not have moving parts and thus they can be shock resistant up to 1500 G.
Taking a peek

I was bit surprised to find screws on the Partiot SSD. Naturally you will void the warrantly if you open up your drive. I did it for you so you don't have to.

K9GAG08UOM is a 51 nm MLC NAND Flash chip from Samsung. These chips store the actual bits that we send to the drive. JMF602 is a controller chip from JMicron and it works as a SATA II to Flash controller. Other than these there is very little interesting inside a SSD unit.
