Software

The Spectre uses the same StarCraft II-themed driver software as the Banshee. Look past the theme and the settings are the same as we've seen on so many other gaming mouse reviews. On the first tab there are settings for the button actions. The scroll wheel can also be used for macros and cycling the DPI up and down.

The next tab is for the sensor sensitivity and acceleration. There are also options for independently setting the sensitivity for X- and Y-axis and also another setting that shows the current DPI on the screen. In case you end up using the scroll wheel for DPI-switching, there are are maximum of five different steps available.

Profile-editor with automatic switching. Just in case you want to set different sensitivity and button settings or maybe lighting for different games and programs.

Of course there's also a macro editor available. The editor can automatically record or ignore the delays between key presses, but there's also a manual editor for the delays. The Advanced-button shows a list of additional commands like copy and paste, showing desktop and shutting down PC that can also be used in the macros.

And finally the Spectre comes with exactly the same lighting system as the Banshee. There are three groups of leds: the logo, the sidestrip and also an underglow at the back, all of which can be independently controlled to any color you wish. There's also the APM-setting available that changes the colors according to the action per minute in the game, and also alrts that make the colors change when certain things happen in-game (stuff like your base being under attack, building being complete, etc.).
