Sapphire HD 5750 Vapor-X - Gaming on a budget

The HD5750 is based on the same Juniper core as the HD5770 we already looked at earlier. The memory is just about the same as in the 5770 model with 128 bit bus width and close to same clock speed as well, but on the GPU there are some cores missing. The number of stream processors has been reduced from 800 to 720 and the number of texture units is also four smaller. There's only a 150 MHz difference in the core clock, but we'll see later on how overclocking can narrow the performance gap between the two cards.

The top side of the card is largely hidden under the plastic shroud of the cooler. This being the Vapor-X model the cooler is upgraded from the stock one by Sapphire and looks pretty promising with its large fan and reasonably large heat sink. I must say though that I don't like the way the plastic shroud overlaps the card, thus adding to the length of the card.

The backside of the card better reveals the blue PCB used by Sapphire. Among the other things the backside reveals four exposed memory chips as well as four mounting screws for the cooler assembly. The PCB lenght here is 18 centimeters, so the card should fit to just about any case.
