3DMark Vantage 1.0.1 - Performance

3DMark is a computer benchmark suite by Futuremark Corporation designed to determine the DirectX performance of graphics cards. The full range of 3DMark products ranges are 3DMark99, 3Dmark99 MAX, 3DMark2000, 3DMark2001, 3Dmark2001 SE, 3DMark03, 3DMark05, 3DMark06 and 3DMark Vantage. Every new edition of 3DMark uses the latest in 3D technology to deliver objective and forward-looking measurements for real world performance.

This time we have chosen to run both the performance- and extreme-settings with the cards, to find out how well the cards cope with higher resolutions and more demanding graphics.

Moving on to the newer 3dmark the scores aren't quite as impressive, but still not half bad at this price gap. Right now the HD5850 sits in about the same price range, so compared to that the crossfire performs just fine again.

3DMark Vantage 1.0.1 - Extreme

The more demanding Extreme preset in the 3dmark Vantage the stock 5750 only manages to beat the old HD4770. On the other hand the crossfire setup scales very nicely again and comes third in this test.

Call of Duty 4

Call of Duty 4 is one of the few recent games that are still DirectX9 only. Despite this it still manages to look realistic and also fits well to testing purposes. Results were gathered with some help from Fraps.

Moving on to the real life game tests, the performance is again very good with the stock speed 5750 beating the 4870 by four frames per second. Again crossfire works very nicely and tops the charts with a good margin of 18 FPS over the 4870 crossfire.
