HD6950 Flex

The HD 6950 is a massive card and while the Sapphire Flex-edition is as long as the reference card, it uses Sapphire's own PCB- and cooler designs rather than the reference ones. The fan has been changed to an axial one and it has moved to the center of the card rather than back. Unfortunately this design doesn't blow hot air straight out of the case.

The TDP of the card is 200 W, and while this is 50 W more than on the HD 6870, it still only requires two 6-pin power connectors. The connectors are placed facing the side, so they don't add to the length of the card.

For connectivity the HD 6950 Flex offers single DVI-I, DVI-D and HDMI-connectors as well as two Display Port Mini-connections. While these connections can be used for Eyefinity setups of up to five screens, the real party piece of the Flex-series card is that, unlike other Radeons, it can run Eyefinity on three DVI-monitors. This is a huge advantage, as Display Port still hasn't quite made its way to mainstream and many people have a couple of DVI-screens and can now just buy a third one without worrying about adapters.
